The smartphones industry is riding a jet. Thats why making so fast and remarkable success. Though a few companies like Samsung and Apple are ruling at present. But it is true that there are others who always make their presence felt. There is also a lot of competition in the battle of operating systems. As we see between Google's Android OS, Apple's iOS, Microsoft Windows Phone and BlackBerry. However, it is now being clear that few days after we will see several new operating systems. These new Os do promise some new features.
Below is the list of upcoming OS.
Apple's iOS 7:
It is expected to launch in 2013. And surely it will power the most of Apple's devices such as iPhone, iPad, iPod. It is expected that this operating system will bring with it a few new features and will certainly help improving the Siri experience for apple users. It is hoped that it will have new apps such as Passbook app.
Android 5.0:
We all know, uptil now, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean has been released though not available for devices other than Google's Nexus series. Nowadays, people as well as the industry is eying on Android 5.0 the Key Lime Pie as said by the sources. It is also said that it will be showcased in the upcoming mobiles such as LG Optimus G2 or Samsung Galaxy S4. Though nothing has been confirmed yet. Android 5.0 is expected to have many new features such as Performance profiles, improved social network integration etc. Another rumor is that it has feature of video chat like Apple's Face Time.
Firefox OS:
Firefox is about to launch an operating system. Currently it is in the process of submssion to W3C for standardization.Since it is based on web technologies like HTML, CSS and Javascript it is a device to attract web developers. Key design of this operating system is similar to Android.
Ubuntu Mobile OS:
Ubuntu mobile Os came to light in 2013. But it was unable to get manufacturer and carrier support. It was showcased in a Samsung Google Nexus and was supposed to be a refreshing change from Android and iOS. Minimum specifications that it requires are a dual core processor and 512 MB of RAM. Though it lacks apps, but it was appreciated for its web browsing and compatibility with a Laptop dock.
BlackBerry 10:
Blackberry 10 is widely considered to be a RIM's last chance for saving its reputation in the mobile market. It is with all new interface and hosting a lot of new apps. Some of eagerly anticipated features are Flow Ui, BB Hub, Active Frames, Time Shift Camera and Video calling, Blackberry app world, Blackberry Browser, Blackberry Balance and improved gaming experience.
Jolla is the company working on Sailfish and it wants to bring new interface to the people to distinguish itself from Android.The first phone running on Sailfish was showcased in November 2012. A key feature of this Os is that it is not only restricted to mobiles only but also other electronics such as computers and tablets.
